Liberal Judgment clouded by Marijuana Legislation

Posted On 2017-04-20 00:00:00

On Thursday April 13, just before the Easter long weekend, the Liberal Government tabled marijuana legislation in the House of Commons, to make it legal for anyone over the age of 18 to possess, grow and smoke marijuana.

Trudeau said the purpose of this legislation is to protect our young people. In the text of the bill, a young person (between ages 12-18) is allowed to possess up to 5 grams of marijuana. Allowing teenagers to possess cannabis does not protect them.

Canada is in the midst of an opioid crisis, and youths are dying or suffering complications from overdoses at an alarming rate, yet the liberals focus on legalizing pot.
A third murderer is released onto the streets because the Justice Minister couldn’t find the time to fill 80 judicial vacancies to relieve the backlogged court system; but she managed to find time to draft a bill to legalize pot.

The Liberals are desperately trying to win a seat on the UN Security council, and have committed an obscene amount of taxpayers’ dollars to the United Nations in that hope. However they directly contravene three UN conventions on drugs already signed and ratified by Canada, because they intend to pass legislation to legalize marijuana.

The Liberals are showing just how disconnected they are from the priorities of Canadians” said MP Gerry Ritz. “Canadians don’t want to see murderers go unpunished. We want to see comprehensive solutions to the opioid issue that is harming young people. Pot should not be the priority, in fact it’s one promise I’d like to see go up in smoke.”
